Rickenbacker Parts and Hardware

Rickenbacker parts and hardware are the bridges, tailpieces, pickguards, knobs and switches specific to Rickenbacker instruments, many of which the factory no longer supplies. Stevie's Guitars sources them through long standing collector and repair shop contacts. Best used when an original part has failed and you want to keep the instrument correct.

The Parts That Fail First

Every model line has its weak points, and on these instruments the pattern is fairly consistent. Bridges wear at the saddle. Tailpieces bend under twelve string tension. Pickguards crack around the screw holes, usually because somebody overtightened them thirty years ago. Switch tips and knobs go missing entirely.

None of these stop a guitar being playable on their own. All of them affect what it is worth, and all of them are harder to replace correctly than they look, because the correct part changes by year.

Why the Year Matters More Than the Model

Telling Steve that you have a 360 is a start. Telling him that you have a 1973 360 with the older bridge is what gets you the right part first time. Specifications changed repeatedly across these production runs, and a part that fits a mid sixties instrument will not necessarily sit correctly on a nineties one.

If you are not sure what you have, send a photograph of the area around the part. That is usually enough.

What Steve Will Not Do

  • Sell you a reproduction part described as an original.
  • Tell you a part exists when it does not, to keep you waiting.
  • Talk you into replacing something that is still serviceable.

Tell Steve the Model and What Broke

A photograph and a model number are usually enough to get a straight answer back.
