How to buy
Ordering, Payment and Shipping
Buying from Stevie's Guitars works by direct enquiry rather than checkout. You message about an instrument, Steve answers your questions and sends further photographs, then price, payment and shipping are agreed before anything moves. Shipping is quoted per item at current carrier rates. Most sales are settled within a few days of the first message.
The Four Steps
- Send an enquiry. Use the form on the instrument page or the contact page. It reaches Steve directly.
- Ask everything. Condition, history, playability, more photographs of any area you want to see. This is the step that matters, and nobody has ever been talked out of using it properly.
- Agree the terms. Final price, how you are paying, and what shipping to your address costs. All of it confirmed in writing before money moves.
- It ships. Packed in a hard case inside an outer carton, with tracking. Or you arrange a viewing and collection by appointment.

Why There Is No Checkout
A cart works when every unit is identical. These are not. Two guitars of the same model and year can be worth very different money depending on what has happened to them, and no product page conveys that as well as a conversation does.
It also protects you. Buying a vintage instrument sight unseen from an automated checkout is how people end up disappointed. Buying it after a back and forth with the person who inspected it is not.
Payment
What holds true regardless: you will be told the full amount, including shipping, before you are asked to send anything.

Shipping
Quoted per item, at what the carrier charges on the day, to your address.
Being straight about this matters. Shipping a guitar has become genuinely expensive, and rates have climbed well beyond what they were when the old site was written. Any listing quoting a flat low figure is out of date. Ask when you enquire and you will get the real number for where you live.
Instruments travel in a hard case inside an outer carton, with the neck supported and the headstock protected, and they go with tracking. If you want insurance for the full value, say so and it will be arranged.
Collection in Person
Possible by appointment, arranged through the contact form. This is not a storefront and there is nothing to browse, so a visit is for one agreed instrument at an agreed time.
After It Arrives
Open it carefully and check it over. If anything is not as described, or it has taken a knock in transit, message Steve straight away. Photograph the packaging before you unpack any further, because carrier claims depend on it. The returns and satisfaction policy covers where you stand.
