Vintage Pickups, Cases and Accessories
Vintage pickups, cases and accessories are the period correct components that finish a restoration or return an instrument to how it left the factory. Stevie's Guitars sources them by era and model rather than selling generic replacements. Best used when originality affects what your instrument is worth.
Pickups
A pickup swap changes the sound of a guitar more than anything else you can do to it, and on a collectible instrument it also changes the value. Where an original is dead beyond rewinding, the question becomes whether to fit a period correct replacement or a modern equivalent that sounds close and costs less. Both answers are defensible. Which one is right depends on whether you are keeping the guitar or eventually selling it.

Cases
Original cases are worth real money and get overlooked constantly. A guitar that arrives in its correct case is a meaningfully different proposition from the same guitar in a generic gig bag, both to a collector and to an insurer. Where the original case is gone, a period correct replacement is usually findable.
Accessories
Strap buttons, jack plates, truss rod covers, original hang tags and paperwork. Small things, and the reason a restoration either looks finished or looks nearly finished.
What to Send When You Ask
- Maker, model and year, as precisely as you know it.
- A photograph of the part or the space where it should be.
- Whether you want original, period correct or simply working. This changes the price considerably.
Tell Steve the Model and What Broke
A photograph and a model number are usually enough to get a straight answer back.
