Vintage and Collectible Guitars
Vintage and collectible guitars are instruments valued for their era, maker or rarity rather than for being the cheapest way to make a sound. Stevie's Guitars sells them one at a time, direct to the buyer, with condition described honestly. Best used when you want a specific model that local shops no longer carry.
Old guitars are not automatically good guitars. What makes one worth buying is a combination of who built it, what has happened to it since, and whether the neck and frets have enough life left to give you years rather than months. Those are the questions worth asking, and they are the ones Steve answers before you send money.

What to Ask Before You Buy Anything Vintage
- Neck and truss rod. Does it hold a straight line under tension, and does the rod still have travel left.
- Fret life. A refret is not a dealbreaker, but it changes what the instrument is worth.
- Originality. Replaced pickups and tuners affect collector value far more than they affect tone.
- Repairs. A well done headstock repair is fine. A hidden one is not.
- Case. Original cases matter more than most buyers expect, and cost real money to replace.
